Well... i was looking at my last blog entry and wow, i am a slacker. I don't know if its is because i have been running like a chicken with my head cut off, or what, but i am here, and i have my blogging shoes back on!
So last night was our beloved intern Kenny's final REVO as one on staff, and i have to say that he knocked this one out of the park. We has recently finished a series entitled "Miracles", in which we looked at a handful of the miracles that Jesus performed while he was establishing His ministry here on earth.
To put the cherry on the top of this theological sundae, we did a very artist communion service to wrap up the whole series. We made 6 tables one for each one of the miracles that we talked about, and on each table were pieces of paper and pens, along with original art, creative icons and images to illustrate the miracles, and of course candles... lots and lots of candles.
During a 20 minute refection moment we asked that each person on the room would take the time to visit these tables, to ask God to speak to the through the art, and see that the God who does these miracle s is the same God that loves you.
If someone had this huge need for God to walk on water in the middle of a storm for them, well they would go to that table and write down their prayers, if they needed the God who heals the lepers to be the same God to heal them or a loved one, they would go to that table... and so on...
The night culminated with all of us partaking in the greatest miracle... where Jesus died, then he rose, and wiped away our sins...we all took part in that miracle together...
I cant say enough how powerful that was... and not just for the people in the seats... but for me.
