I hate peeps...seriously how can people eat those things? My wife, she loves them...me...not so much. One of my biggest memories of EASTER is going on the annual Easter basket hunt at my grandparents', finding the candy filled cavity makers that holidays so worth while. When i was a kid...that was all Easter was ever about...fake grass that when everywhere, lots of food, and the dreaded peeps...Easter never really meant much.
Since i started working at a church Easter took on a whole new meaning...Production, songs, more production, and tons of new people who you wont see again for another year. Even now, sometimes holidays feel more like demonic sugarcoated farm animals than a celebrating of so much more.
My prayer for me...my prayer for all of us... is that we would have a much bigger reason to celebrate this easter week. That our Saviors sacrifice would merritt more than a pretty production and a sugar induced cavity...
...That this week would warrant our gratitude for our debts paid, a hope given, an eternity restored.
My prayer also would be that if you choose to peep...please keep your peeps to yourself.
