Life is nuts for all of us...you would agree wouldn't you?
Last Saturday the REVO leadership team got together at my house for some scones, some coffee, and a time to think outside of the box.
As we have been talking about the importance of community, the importance of serving, really the importance of being plugged in...we wanted to be "inventive in our hospitality".
One of our Revolutionaries came up with the idea of spheres (actually he stole it from a ministry in Orlando), where community happens when you hang out with people who like to do the same things as you.
Let me break it down a lil more...
I love movies...I love to go see movies...how awesome would it be if there was a place that i could post a bulletin saying..." i am going to see 300 this sat @ the amc in Brandon @9:45...anyone want to join me" then magically 10-15 people who also want to see the movie show up...we hang out and a sphere...or community is formed. Nothing formal, just life...together.
I know there are 4-5 guys who on Sundays after church go mountain biking, I know ton of people who like to try new restaurants, play video games, got to the theater, like to fish...what if we just did it together?
Church is not limited to the pews, the building, even the Bible....church can take place over a bad meal in a new restaurant as we open our lives to each other.
So....with that in mind...REVO will be launching a bulletin board on the www.revolution813.com site here in the next week...were we can do just that.
kind of revolutionary...huh?

I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet even more folks, and just love on people...after all that's pretty much what Jesus did...hang out and love on folks.
