So, I went to an Ash Wednesday service tonight. Never done that before and its my own church. It was dimly lit, had candles, discussed how we are dust as humans and cling to Christ, and finished with my pastor putting ashes on my forehead. It was awesome. The funny thing was, it felt very Catholic... and what interested me more is that it is a Church creation. As far as I understand, the Church created Lente as a time to remember, sacrifice, and worship through that...sort of like communion. My question is, how do you feel about man made traditions that aren't necessarily Biblically proofed. I thought of this question before when I read "A New Kind of Christian" and the author talked about a pastor who had Seminole indians in his church who wanted to do some rituals from there tribe that made them feel closer to God...and the pastor was ok with it. I don't know...what do you think?
