Over the past couple of months, i have been really desiring a more close knit community here @ REVO. By that i mean, that we would be more involved in each others lives, that we would actually be aware and care when people have not been in a while, that we would be apart of a small group by which we learn about each other...and God.
All the while i realize that that begins with me...that i would be more aware of each and everyone of you as individuals...not just as a generation, not just as Revolution. that i would make myself way more available to talk, have lunch, get coffee.I am the crappiest name rememberer in the world...but my desire to know you and for you to know me is so freaking heavy on me right now...that i am pretty much willing to do anything.
If we as a generation...as Revolution...as individuals really want to know God...to experience Him for real...we have to know each other...to experience each other for real.
It's a start...but every morning for the past year and a half i have been praying for you, all of you collectivley...and over the past few months my focus has changed...to praying for you by name. Granted my prayers sometimes sound like..."God be with the girl with the long red hair, and the guy with the tatoos"...but for every name i cant remember, there are 10 that i do...and you...all of you consider yourself prayed for...remeber that you are thought of and valued, even if your day makes you feel otherwise.
So this is a start...a small step on the road to being the Church...wan't to come with me?

Wow Bob, I really like the blog thing that is happening. I wanted to share with you that while you were away Mike D did such a great job, that isn't to say we didn't miss you so so much! The open discussion that he did was a nice change of pace. Those who stood up and spoke briefly let us in for a little peak at what their heart was thinking and I thought it was wonderful. It was a great way to feel closer to one another. I could go on and on about it.
Bobby, I think that you are doing an incredible job as our Pastor! Your heart and passion for this ministry is real and very evident. Also, this series has been very enjoyable! I hope that know how much you are loved by your Revo family!

I totally agree with you on the name thing. My issue is, if I meet someone and I don't use their name in a sentence right after, it is lost. If someone makes a comment post introduction, the name gone, poof, out of my brain until I am reminded. So, in saying that, the nametag thing is awesome. I am finding myself making more of an effort to talk to people at Revo, so that when I see them again I can just say hi without looking at their nametag. It is helpful.
