Here at REVO…One of our biggest challenges…is how do we close the back end of this place…how do we be apart of all those who visit for the first time here…and be a part of them finding a home here. How do give people a fighting chance to here Gods words…make them alive…and live them out…if this is always a revolving door. Nate Tyler said….something genius to me…he said…lets make relationships with them all and then they will never want to leave. Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner! That is what this is all about….but there is no way that we as a staff…me as a pastor can ever humanly do this by my self… I think this is where the O-ness comes to you…to all of us as individual children of God…as followers of Christ…He commands us to encourage people…the prerequisite for this is that we have to care about them for our words to be valid…we have to live by example for it to carry weight…and which means our lives can no longer be sheltered in the little box we usually keep them in…we have to open house…we have to meet the need…we have to be the church. I got an email today from a guy who has been attending REVO here for the last several months…In this email he shared how God has used this place to change his life…and very adamantly stated that it was time for him to get out of the slightly uncomfortable orange chairs and be apart of the serving this generation so other might have the same experience…. He gets it…it is not just about him any more…it is about all of us…and do you know how he got it…some one here opened up their life to him…and shared what God was doing here… See the greatest Act of Service both to God and To REVO…is not just running sound…or pouring coffee…or playing in the band…but opening up to the people next to you…fighting for them beside them, in the good and the bad. The biggest way we could change our world…is by opening up to it…and sharing our life with the people around us…and as a result, this will encourage them to find a real God. Doing the acts of service here at REVO are huge…but living the acts of service is way bigger. How amazing would it be…if everyone in this room had a room full of people ready to fight for them…when they are beat up…broken…homeless…pour…depressed and doubtful. Imagine what God could do with that.
