For many of us…if we are truly honest with ourselves…we are alone…not alone in the since that we don’t have fiends or people around us to occupy our time…but alone in the since that they really have no clue who we are in the inside. We are too afraid to let people know about of fears, and failures, our hopes and dreams. We as a church…have done a pretty poor job of fostering the kind of intimacy that the bible talks about…instead settling for the movie theater kind of church experience…where we see the show…feel warm and fuzzy, and then go back to our regular life. We are choosing a pretty poor counterfeit of what church was designed to be, and for some ungodly reason...we have become ok with it. Here is something that might just blow your mind a little bit…the church that started after Jesus ascended back into heaven…didn’t have a church building for nearly 300 years…they all met in each others homes, Church was a way of life…not a once a week obligation. If you look in scripture, most of the letters to the early church refer to their parishioners or congregation members as "brothers", This was either the birth of the southern style cheesy church speak, or maybe these words had a little more weight to them. I think the Term "brother" was used to describe what church really was meant to be, a family. Most of us even here at REVO know faces, and might ever remember a name or two…we come into a huge place, with hundreds of people, and feel completely isolated. ..Because very few of us walk together outside of these four walls. My, challenge to you...is this... Revolution stands to awaken a generation for Christ" If we ever want to be who we say we are…we have to walk together…we cant just be a once a week appointment on our blackberry’s…we have to begin to let people in to who we are…we to actually live out the Love that God call us to…if we ever want our faith to be real. Our world will change, but not until we do…Will you make REVOLUTION more than a feel good sing-along churchy experience? Will you make it a way of Life? Hebrews 10:22-25 (The Message) 22-25So let's do it—full of belief, confident that we're presentable inside and out. Let's keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let's see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching. Be Blessed, Be bold, Rock On! Bobby
