So...for the last few weeks now i have been praying like a mad dog for a certain area in Jill and I's life. I would get up in the morning like a good little pastor, and pray for a hundred different things, from our Friends marriage, to the continued growth of Revolution, even the dreams and hopes that Jill and I have for our family as well as our ministry. Each one of these prayers seemed to be clouded my this self imposed worry of the one particular area for us.
I think for me my biggest point of worry is that i had no clue how it could be changed, I felt as if my sincere requests and even sometimes emotional prayers were bouncing off our ceiling.
I would wonder...God...are you listening?
Tuesday morning i got up both out of habit and anticipation and a little our of a for-shadowed guilt if i were to hit the snooze button and miss out on God time (especially since i a pastor and all). I prayed my heartfelt prayers, I sought the face of God, and begged for his help...still frustrated out of a perceived lack of answering on His part.
First thing that morning, completely unlooked for...God answers my prayer in a HUGE way.
I think I realize in that moment (even know i have said it a hundred times) God is "...always working things together for good for those who love Him...", He is hearing my prayers and frustrations, He has already made the answer, and is desperately hoping that i would find it in Him.
And i can imagine with frustration in His heart he is constantly asking me... "Are you listening?"
